Glenlea Beef’s seedstock program has evolved over the years to the point where we sell our seedstock year round and provide premium marketing options to our clients for their seedstock and commercial cattle. A feature of which is our PROGENY BUY BACK PROGRAM that supplies cattle to our beef processing company, Australian Grassfed Meats.
The combined experience gained from producing seedstock, prime stock and processing cattle for Export give us a unique and deep understanding of the supply chain and key profit drivers and all levels. We share this knowledge with all our clients, both seedstock and commercial to help improve your bottom line.
We are a full service seedstock provider for the 21st century and spend equal amounts of effort on farm with our clients and at home.
Our seedstock program is currently being expanded to include ULTRA BLACK cattle which are uniquely suited to coastal environmental conditions and northern pastoral regions, while having high market acceptance and improved returns.
Glenlea will celebrate 46 years of breeding Charolais in 2018.The stud was relocated to Guyra, NSW in 2010 from Tasmania. Many years of carcass competitions, Grassfed trials and exhibiting stud cattle helped refine our herd.

We now have cattle located in several locations in NSW and QLD. The Charolais type developed by Glenlea is a medium framed, early to medium maturing well muscled Charolais with early gestation. Selecting for early gestation over generations has built easy care cows that calve easily and grow at above average rates, so do the progeny of the bulls we sell. The herd was developed on the pasture based finishing systems in Tasmania, with the cow herd running in Pastoral areas with short growing seasons and low rainfall and with zero access to feedlot finishing. Glenlea cattle as a type are highly adaptable, naturally good doing and have thrived in many environments from coastal NSW and the tablelands to the western regions of NSW, North to Western and Central Queensland. These traits have been bred into our cattle for generations and we have eliminated, overly large framed, hard to finish cattle completely from our herd.
